As requested - here is a preliminary shot of Maelee next to a couple of popular figures sculpted by Jeff Grace for Dark Sword and Werner Klocke for Reaper so you can gauge the size of the intended models. Keep in mind, some of our figures may actually be a little larger or smaller depending on the character portrayed.
The Idea
For several years now I have been wanting to launch a new boutique line of miniatures featuring strong female characters. Although I'm using terms like "Bombshell" and "Babes" to describe the line, these characters are much more than either of those outdated terms. The concept needed something retro and nostalgic that evoked images of famous paintings like J. Howard Miller's "We Can Do It" and Rockwell's "Rosie the Riveter".
With this new concept, I want to create a strong recognizable brand that stands for excellence in figurative sculpting. My recent work (shown above) for some of the top companies in the gaming industry has brought me into contact with a fantastic group of creative professionals eager to collaborate on this project. From concept art and character design to sculpting and painting the finished models, my goal is to create beautiful figurative sculpture in miniature. And now we have an exceptional team of skilled and talented collaborators who share that goal.
The Costs
The funding goal goes directly to pay the artists and designers to make the characters tangible. It also will go to the sculptors who will be providing the characters and pieces for molding as well as all of the other production costs like 3D printing, casting, packaging and various other promotional expenses.
The Babes
We have a fantastic list of classic character archetypes as well as new characters from many popular genres including Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Steampunk and more that we will be revealing throughout the course of the Kickstarter project that you can choose as rewards. We also have several characters officially licensed from artist Matt Dixon that will be added to our Babes line. Our figures will be engineered to make them easy to add to alternate bases for a variety of gaming or painting needs. Care will also be taken to size the figures so they will be compatible with other models from the most popular manufacturers within the 30mm range. The Babes will be cast in metal with a variety of accessory sprues available along with resin creatures and vehicles.
BABES REWARDS CHOICES
As your first perk for jumping in early and backing the project to completion way before the deadline, we have upgraded EVERY Babe model with a resin scenic base insert! That's right, all of the Babe models will now come with a resin base insert that will have unique terrain features appropriate to the characters. The base insert will be scaled to fit inside of the depression on a 30mm premium round-lipped base common to many tabletop games. I have created numerous base inserts just like these for Wyrd Miniatures and we are happy to be able to include them with each of our Babe models.

As a bonus for reaching our first stretch goal we have added the HLpR Bot as an assistant to every Maelee model. Every Maelee will now come with this scrappy little sidekick to help her with her many repair tasks. HLpR is like a Swiss Army Knife of hidden appendage tools, access interface ports and retro rocket boosters.
The Rewards
There are three distinct initial pieces we would like to offer as choices at various levels as well as an exclusive figure available only to Kickstarter backers. In addition, we have a set of postcards featuring art by the character's designers which we will be revealing throughout the course of the project. We are also making a Bombshell Miniatures t-shirt with our Babes mascot, Maelee the Mechanic. As the project proceeds we will be revealing additional characters and fun accessories that may be available as part of the various backer reward levels. You can donate additional amounts beyond the listed backer levels and choose rewards from the Additional Support list. At any time while the project is active, you can edit your pledge amount with the total you want to contribute. At the close of the pledge drive, we will send a survey for you to select rewards from your total pledge amount.

The BOMB KIT Level will expand with additional perks like the FREE 40mm resin Ammo Dump, the FREE Bombshell Relics and the Squidman Sidekick as more stretch goals are achieved!

We have high hopes of launching an exceptional boutique line of quality miniatures, but we need your help to get started. If we're successful with this project we have plans of adding an additional line of larger scaled characters, a dedicated retro Sci-Fi range, and resin bases and accessories. It can get as big as you want it to be.
